Year after year we enjoy a high success rate so it’s best to get your plans made out ahead of time with the taxidermist.
Spring or fall hunts are available with rifle or archery an option. Ask for combination hunt possibilities in the fall as archery deer and elk seasons coincide with bear.
Our Idaho black bear hunts are mostly conducted over bait, but spot and stalk hunting is an option as well. We have up to a dozen trail cameras running at all times and we’ll be able to send you pictures of the bears you’ll be hunting well before you even get here.
The newest addition to our Idaho bear hunting options is our brand new several thousand acre private ranch. This hunt isn’t quite as rugged as our mountain hunt being conducted completely from our comfortable lodge. The genetics of the bears on the ranch are superior. The 3rd largest black bear in Idaho history was taken there just this past hunting season.
Our spring season for black bear in Idaho runs from April 15th until May 31st and the fall season from August 30th until October the 31st. After you tag out fishing and upland bird hunting is an option. We can hunt pheasants on the ranch during all big game seasons.

*Well the 2015 spring bear hunt is over and what an excellent one it was here in Idaho. We are pleased to report that all bears taken, but one, were a color phase other than black! Holy mackerel that’s incredible! Not sure where else you can go and expect to see that many cinnamon, chocolate and blonde bears…..
Some excellent boars were taken as well with one big red bruin stretching the tape out passed 7 feet squared! We ‘re also very fortunate in the fact that we got to meet some great people this spring and can’t wait for next spring already. Some big bears got away from us this year and we can’t wait to get after them again!
